Legacy Finishes
The Decorative Art That Launched
My Creative Journey
For over 20 years, I created luxury artistic finishes that brought walls, ceilings, cabinetry, and entire rooms to life. From softly layered Venetian plaster to bold textures and shimmering metallics, each finish was custom-designed to elevate the everyday into something extraordinary.
These finishes were not only a joy to create — they were the foundation of my business, my artistry, and my teaching.
I never set out to be a decorative artist — I just loved transforming my home with paint, texture, and a whole lot of creativity. What started as hand-painting our cabinets on a ping pong table turned into a 20+ year career creating custom finishes for walls, ceilings, and furniture across Central Iowa.
Over the years, I had the opportunity to subcontract with The Finished Edge LLC, a company my husband Jason co-owns. Many of the finishes shown here were completed during that time. Although I no longer take on finish projects, Jason still consults with me when a job calls for deep product knowledge or a custom texture solution.
👉 If you’re located in Central Iowa and looking for a decorative finish for your home, you’re welcome to contact Jason directly at (515) 208-4047.
(He’ll know exactly when to call in the texture expert. 😉)
These finishes helped support our family, shaped my identity as an artist, and laid the foundation for the business I run today — where I now teach and mentor creatives through my Surface to Success™ Certification Program. This page is more than a portfolio — it’s a look at the work that changed my life and continues to inspire others.
A Glimpse Into My Decorative Finishing Portfolio
While I’ve stepped away from client work, I now mentor others who want to learn these techniques and build their own creative businesses. My Surface to Success™ Certification Program teaches everything from application methods to pricing, marketing, and building a portfolio.
Whether you’re dreaming of learning these skills or just love seeing the art behind the craft — I’m so glad you stopped by.
