There’s something timeless about the Greek Key motif — that repeating, geometric design that feels both traditional and modern at the same time. It’s one of those details that never goes out of style. When I recently came across a vintage dresser that needed a little love, I knew it was the perfect candidate for this classic upgrade. It had that indented niche around the entire perimeter of the front and top. I knew it was the perfect place to add a little molding.

Here’s a picture of the dresser when I first brought it home. Notice the hardware and how it was falling off.
Discovering WoodUBend Moldings
This was my very first time using WoodUBend moldings, and I have to say, I’m impressed! The product is flexible, easy to cut, and can be shaped perfectly around corners with just a little heat. I realized partway through that I probably could have heated it up a bit more, but even so, it adhered beautifully and gave me clean, mitered corners that looked seamless once painted.
I chose the Greek Key trim because it’s such a staple in traditional design — elegant, architectural, and instantly elevates any piece of furniture. You simply can’t go wrong with it.

I removed the hardware and installed the WoodUBend trim moldings. They fit perfectly in this niche!
The Paint Finish: Wise Owl One Hour Enamel
Once the trim was on and sanded smooth, it was time for paint. I used Wise Owl One Hour Enamel in “Vintage Denim”, a rich, muted blue that feels calm yet sophisticated. It has just enough depth to make the gold hardware pop and gives the piece a luxurious, furniture-store feel.
I sprayed the enamel using my Graco Ultra QuickShot, a cordless airless sprayer where the paint pot and motor are separate from the gun. It’s a game changer for detail work! I love how easy it is to maneuver the gun in any direction, and the cleanup is a breeze — which makes painting day so much more enjoyable.
(I’ll link both the sprayer and paint below so you can check them out for your next project!)

I love how I was able to cut the corner of the molding to create the perfect mitered edge. It’s all in the details!
Finishing Touches
After curing, I added brushed-gold handles to tie everything together. The combination of the deep blue, crisp Greek Key detail, and metallic accents brought this piece to life. It’s now available in my online shop, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.
Why I Love Projects Like This
As a decorative artist, I’ve spent years layering texture and finishes on walls, furniture, and canvas. What I love most is taking something ordinary and transforming it into something extraordinary — and this dresser reminded me just how fun that process can be.
Classic design never goes out of style, and with the right products (and a bit of creativity), you can create something that feels both timeless and personal.
